Classes for people with stiff bodies and flexible minds!

Please note that I’m currently taking some time off to address a health issue but classes are still running as normal under the gentle guidance of a couple of other teachers.  I’m mostly still around and will happily engage with you via text, email or phone if you have questions.  Thanks, Suzie  🙂

When:

Sundays and Wednesdays  9.00am – 10.30am

Where :

Red Cross Hall, Oceanview Rd.  (Above the Oneroa Medical Centre) Please don’t park in the medical centre parking lot – it’s  doctors’ parking during the week and an A & E every weekend.  The easiest place to park if there’s no street parking is just one block up the main road, behind where Island Gelato’s kiosk used to be, in the public carpark. (i.e. turn down Weka Rd and its on your right.)

And how exactly do I access the hall?

Please walk into the car park (of the medical centre) and use the external staircase on the side of the building.

Cost options:

As life is so uncertain at the moment and many people have lost jobs or are just finding it hard to make ends meet I’m always happy to accept koha.  Otherwise prices are –

  • $20 drop-in casual
  • $100 for 5 class card
  • $150 – $200 for 10 class card. (You choose what you can afford to pay) Only available for those who regularly come twice a week or for couples.

What should I bring?

If you have a mat do bring it along (I do have some if you don’t).  Also either a blanket and a cushion or 2 blankets if you can lay your hands on those things as it makes you much more comfortable in relaxation. (Again I have plenty should you need them)

What should I expect?

The world is changing as never before.  The energies and frequencies around us are higher than we have ever experienced and our bodies need to be readied and upgraded to receive and process these. It is my goal to guide you, via breath and mental focus, to a place inside yourself where peace and calm reside. And at the same time, prepare your nervous system for the new energies.  This is done via breathing and meditative practices along with the asana practice.

Although I am Iyengar-trained I have been influenced by Donna Farhi and various other teachers. I teach a fairly slow, gentle class to help you develop your flexibility, but with enough ‘grit’ to balance that with strength and stability.  I help you to enjoy a practice which works for your own body, rather than make you try to fit your body to the practice.
